PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high rotation and high output and improve durability by reducing weight of each part of a main movement system comprehensively in an internal combustion engine and improve, for example, strength and installation easiness by effective combination of each part of the main movement system. SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine includes a piston 13 and a connecting rod 16 connected with the piston 13 as main movement system parts. The piston 13 is provided with a cuplike supporting part 78 provided on a rear face 77 of a crown part 65 to form a spherical joint 14 and a radial rib 81 extended to a land part 74 formed into a cylindrical shape at a fringe of the crown part 65 from the cuplike supporting part 78.
