PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail operating device capable of stably and securely traveling a bottom rail vertically and performing unhooking operation of a stop piece irrespective of speed and minuteness of travel operation. SOLUTION: An operation gear supported rotatably on a support shaft is provided in a headrail, an operation belt with notch meshing with the operation gear is wrapped around the operation gear, its suspension part on a pulling side is used as a traveling operation part, and its other side is used as a stop operation part. This rail operating device is provided with the stop piece guided toward the traveling operation part under the operation gear so as to reciprocate freely, having a hooking tooth flank meshing with the notch of the rail belt on its front face, and retracting by itself and a pushing part supported so as to tilt forward, backward, and freely by a guide means, extending a belt guide face of the operation belt on its front side, and extending on a rear side of the stop piece on its rear side. A pushing-out lever inclined backward by fixed retraction force and a front wall face for receiving the operation belt on an outer side on a traveling operation part side are provided to lock and hold the operation belt between the stop piece and the front wall face by operating a stop operation part.
