In the supply line (9), spiral or screw-shaped components (12) induce swirl into the flow entering the hollow fiber membranes. The rotation caused is 70-270[deg]. The swirl unit (12) is linear in cross section. It is star-shaped in cross section, with at least three points. Enlargement of the inlet cross section is continuous or stepped. The unit is mounted in the feed line facing the hollow fibers. It is made of sheet metal. A fluid droplet separator is located ahead of the hollow fiber membrane. The droplet separator comprises a groove (13) in a wall of the feed line and/or near to the enlargement in cross section. The moisture exchange module (7) moistens air supplied to the fuel cell system. The air is supplied by a compressor (6) along the outer surfaces of the hollow fiber membranes in the fuel cell system (1), whilst a moist gas from one or more fuel cells (2) passes through the hollow fiber membranes.
