摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pilot ignition type gas engine device which has an excellent ignition performance, high thermal efficiency and low discharge concentration of nitrogen oxides, and its operating method. SOLUTION: In a gas engine device which supplies a mixture of gas fuel and oxidizing agent into a main cylinder 1 and ignites with an ignition device 3 the mixture compressed by a main piston 2 in the cylinder, the ignition device 3 is provided with a detonation generator 8 for detonating the mixture of gas fuel and oxidizing agent in a detonation generating spaced after being compressed by a sub-piston, a plasma injection device 4 having an injection nozzle arranged so as to inject plasma generated by the detonation to the combustion chamber, and a control device 7 for controlling the injection timing of a plasma flow through the injection nozzle. The control device 7 controls the injection timing so as to be synchronized with the compression ending timing of a mixture in the main cylinder and ignites the mixture in the main cylinder by the injection of the plasma flow.
