A process for producing a sample for matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry, with which signals with higher intensity than in the prior art can be obtained in the MALDI mass spectrometry. There is provided a process for producing a sample for matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry, comprising coating a target with a liquid containing an analyte sample substance, a matrix for matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry and a solvent at a revolution speed of >= 3000 rpm by spin coating technique to thereby form a coating film and drying the coating film.
