PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping motor control device which prevents vibration or step-outs or the like of a stepping motor to perform correct and stable control of the stepping motor. SOLUTION: The stepping motor control device is equipped with a first current setting circuit for generating a first drive current for the stepping motor to vertically move a moving element, and with a second current setting circuit for generating a second drive current. The current value of the first drive current is larger than that of the second drive current. In lifting the moving element, the first drive current is supplied to the stepping motor, while in lowering the element the second drive current is supplied to the motor to allow a torque allowance degree of the stepping motor in the vertical movement of the moving element to be maintained within a given range.
