<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transaction device and system for enabling the owner of a portable terminal to inexpensively, efficiently and safely use information from a financial institute or the like. <P>SOLUTION: An information request signal receiving means 11 receives an information request signal from a portable terminal 20, and an information providing means 12 downloads information on a network, and transmits the downloaded information to the portable terminal 20 which has transmitted an information request signal. Thus, it is possible to reduce the charge for a telephone call to be paid by the owner of the portable terminal at the time of receiving information provision from the Web site of a financial institute or the like. Also, the transaction processing by the user is operated in parallel even under the download of the information by a parallel processing control means 14.
