PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positional information providing device and a positional information using terminal capable of reducing the total amount of data for representing the position of the POI (point of interest). SOLUTION: The positional information providing device 10 being positional information providing side, for the road interval along the POI transmits to the positional information receiver side e.g. by creating the road configuration data for specifying a plurality of nodes 1 to P with the longitudes and the latitudes, and the positional information providing data including the virtual configuration data for the position of the POI by the e.g. node P+1. The positional data using terminal being the receiver side specifies the road interval along the POI by map matching the road configuration using the received positional information providing data and the map data provided in the own device, and based on the virtual configuration of the POI position is specified. Thereby, on the map displaying screen of the navigation system etc., the POI position can be displayed precisely while reducing the transmitting total amount of the positional information providing data.
