PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for balancing a gas turbine rotor. SOLUTION: The method comprises the step of preparing the gas turbine rotor including a plurality of turbine blades (50), the turbine blade being provided with a blade tip shroud (68) having a leading edge (74) and a trailing edge (76) opposing to the leading edge, and the step of connecting a balance clip (100) to the turbine blade. The balance clip comprises a first section (102) having a first length (104) extending between the leading and trailing edges of the tip shroud and including a first hook (114) which is so constituted as to be connected to the leading edge of the tip shroud; a second section (106) having a second length (108) shorter than the first length, the second length extending only partly toward the shroud end edge where the tip shroud trailing and leading edges are opposed to each other; and a second hook extending between the first and second sections and connected to the leading and trailing edges of the tip shroud.
