PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a battery having an excellent hydrophilic property, excellent oxidation deterioration resistance and an excellent ion trapping property, capable of high-rate discharge, having a long service life and causing little self-discharge. SOLUTION: This separator for a battery is composed by applying a graft polymerization process to a non-woven fabric containing a semiaromatic polyamide fiber and one or more kinds of polyolefin fibers.
