PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket with a switching function, of which the size and the number of parts are reduced to realize low cost. SOLUTION: The socket with a switching function comprises a housing 1 having at least one set of terminal insertion holes 2 formed so as to freely rotate between two positions of power disconnection 2a and power connection 2b on one face 11a in a state that the plug terminal of a power plug is inserted; and a connection means housed in the housing 1 connecting the plug terminal to a commercial (external) power source when the plug terminal is at the power connection position 2b, and releasing the plug terminal from the commercial power source when the plug terminal is at the power disconnection position 2a.
