A method of detecting fluid flow using a sensor (1) which is sensitive to motion, comprising disposing the sensor in a location where it is desired to measure fluid flow, if any, and determining any fluid flow by measuring any movement of the sensor (1) caused by the fluid (3). The method is particular useful for measuring fluid flow in sewerage treatment plants.
