The lateral and front surface of the tool (1) having stepped regions of different diameters, is used to perform transverse lateral machining and longitudinal feed machining, while the diameter of the stepped regions decrease towards forward face of the tool. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) tool for machining workpiece; and (2) machining equipment.
