PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric discharge machining power supply device for machining a workpiece to be uniform in surface roughness. SOLUTION: This electric discharge machining power supply device for performing electric discharge in a gap GAP between an electrode 1 and a workpiece 2 includes: a pulse power supply PG for applying pulse voltage to induce discharge between poles of the electrode 1 and the workpiece 2; a DC power supply V1 for supplying power of DC voltage lower than the voltage inducing electric discharge between the electrode 1 and the workpiece 2; a switching element S1 with an anode connected to the work 2, and with a cathode connected in series to the anode of the DC power supply B1; a switching control circuit for controlling the on-off state of the switching element S1; and a capacitor C1 parallel-connected to the switching element S1.
