PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing fine particulate carbon black, by which the effective utilization of energy and environmental problems can simultaneously be solved, while paying an attention on the "negative" portion of a Diesel engine, or the like, and to provide a production apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: The method for producing the fine particulate carbon black is characterized by using a loading means 3 for imparting a load, and a heat engine 1 connected to the loading means to impart an output to the loading means, supplying a fuel into the combustion chamber of the heat engine 1, burning the fuel in the combustion chamber in an imperfect combustion state to produce the fine particulate carbon black in the combustion chamber, exhausting the combustion gas containing the fine particulate carbon black from the exhaust path of the heat engine, and then guiding the combustion gas to a fine particle separator 5 to separate the fine particulate carbon black in the fine particle separator 5.
