PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolytic liquid battery which uses magnesium as a negative electrode active material, has a high operating voltage, and is superior in load characteristics. SOLUTION: In the non-aqueous electrolytic liquid battery using magnesium as a negative electrode active material, the magnesium surface of the negative electrode is coated by indium, gallium, or indium-gallium alloy. It is desirable that the coating quantity of the indium, gallium, or indium-gallium alloy on the magnesium surface is 0.01-2 atom% to magnesium. Then, it is desirable that the content of indium in the indium-gallium alloy at the time of coating the magnesium surface by indium-gallium alloy is 4-30 atom%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
