PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a composite magnetic material which consists of metallic magnetic particles having a uniform and dense ferrite film thinly formed on the surface, and keeps high permeability in a high-frequency area as well. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the composite magnetic material includes a ferrite-plating step of forming a ferrite film on the surface of the metallic magnetic particle by dripping a solution containing metallic ions composing ferrite dissolved therein and a solution of an oxidizing agent consisting of n-valent cations and anions, onto a dispersion liquid of the metallic magnetic particle each at a fixed rate, while adjusting the pH of the dispersion liquid, wherein a dripping amount of the solution containing metallic ions composing ferrite is 4n to 11n times more by mole per hour than that of the solution of the oxidizing agent.
