PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation speed sensor and a load measuring device of roller bearing units for accurately computing rotation speed of a rotating member which supports and secures an encoder regardless of swinging motion of this encoder from dislocation between center of rotation and geometric center. SOLUTION: The sensor for sensing rotation speed outputs detection signal d which indicates the speed with an actual rotation speed d<SB>d</SB>and a fluctuation part d<SB>n</SB>superimposed. By using an adaptive filter 28 defining its own signal self-generated from the above signal of the sensor as its reference signal x, a cancel signal y for canceling the above fluctuation part d<SB>n</SB>is computed to be subtracted from the above detection signal d. Consequently, as a signal e approximately-indicating the above rotation speed d<SB>d</SB>can be obtained, the rotation speed of the rotary member may be computed from this signal e.
