PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PC steel material cutting method by which PC steel material can be cut while the thermal degradation of the PC steel material is reduced as much as possible. SOLUTION: The PC steel material cutting method is provided for cutting excessive length of a tensioned PC steel material while fixing the tensioned PC steel material by a fixing tool, wherein the PC steel material (a PC-steel stranded wire 20) is cut with the use of a plasma-arc type cutting machine (a cutting machine body 100) while the PC steel material is grounded. Since the PC steel material is grounded, the generation of arc at an unexpected part affecting the performance of a fixing structure is suppressed during the cutting operation, and degradation in the strength of the PC steel material by the arc strike can be avoided.
