PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load on a network in an information distribution system for providing disaster information or the like to user terminals. SOLUTION: The information distribution system is provided with: a positioning server 3 for measuring a position of a mobile terminal 2 possessed by a user; a distribution information storage server 40 set to each prescribed area and for storing various distribution information items representing a state in the area; and an information distribution server 1 connected to the positioning server and the distribution information storage server via the network, and the information distribution server is provided with an information distribution means that distributes distribution information to a mobile terminal located in a prescribed area when positional information of the mobile terminal acquired from the positioning server indicates the location in the prescribed area to which the distribution information acquired from the distribution information storage server is set.
