PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a mutation (G590A mutation) at the 590th position of a cDNA of an NAT2 (N-acetyltransferase 2) gene. SOLUTION: A nucleic acid probe is obtained by amplifying a region containing the G590A mutation according to a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) and labeling the terminus with a fluorescent dye. The nucleic acid probe reduces the fluorescence of the fluorescent dye when hybridized. A melting curve analysis is carried out by measuring the fluorescence of the fluorescent dye by using the nucleic acid probe having a specific base sequence.
