PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compactly manufacture an apparatus capable of automatically efficiently extracting the nucleic acid of a sample solution in a short time, at a low cost. SOLUTION: This nucleic acid extraction apparatus is characterized by comprising a holding mechanism 3 for holding nucleic acid extraction cartridges 11 and recovery containers 13 for receiving recovered solutions containing the nucleic acid in rows, respectively, a compressed air-supplying mechanism 4 for introducing compressed air into the nucleic acid extraction cartridges 11 from a single compression nozzle 41, an injection mechanism 5 having injection nozzles 51w, 51r for injecting a washing liquid and a recovering liquid into the nucleic acid extraction cartridges 11, respectively, and a moving means 7 for relatively moving at least the compression nozzle 41 and the holding mechanism 3 of the compressed air-supplying mechanism 4.
