POLYMERIC ADSORBENT, AND METHOD OF PREPARATION AND USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymeric adsorbent, and a method of preparation and use. SOLUTION: A novel macroporous polymer having selected porosity and permeability characteristics that provide rigid polymer matrices suitable for use in medium and high pressure reversed phase liquid chromatography (RPC) is disclosed. A method for preparing the polymer is also disclosed. The polymer is especially useful as a stationary phase in a large scale chromatography column without developing increase in pressure during prolonged use, while maintaining good chromatographic performance for targeted biomolecules, such as insulin.
