PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an spark plug in which adhesiveness between a retainer and a resin part is superior. SOLUTION: This is the manufacturing method of the spark plug for a thermal cell. This includes a process (1) in which one end of respective pair of lead wires is made to face with each other, and they are retained by a retainer in a state that ignitor is alotted to the end part, a process (2) in which the bottom face of the retainer is plasma treated after the process (1), and a process (3) in which the lead wire exposed at the lower part of the retainer is covered together with the bottom face of the retainer by a resin.
