PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping material having excellent mold releasability, when molded. SOLUTION: A sample was prepared by compounding a base material (blank) with five fillers. The damping characteristics of the six samples including the blank were examined. It was realized that the resonance magnification of the damping material (namely using VGCF (vapor grown carbon fiber) as fillers) was an extremely small value of 2.8 dB, while those of carbon fibers and other fillers are≥3 dB, respectively. The dissipation factor also exhibited a more excellent value than those of the other fillers. The result of a rolling ball tack test was a more excellent value of 300 mm than those of the blank and the damping material containing the other fillers.
