<p>A method for movement-compensated noise estimation in which a transmitter (1) sends reference symbols (14,16) and from at least one part of at times directly or indirectly successively received reference symbols (S1-S3) and by forming a static moment, a static fraction (Savg) of the received reference symbols is determined. A dynamic fraction (Smotion) of the received reference symbols is determined by comparing at least two successive reference symbols (S,S?,S1). From the static (Savg) and the dynamic (Smotion) fractions of the received reference symbols, a predicted value (Spred) from the next received reference signal (S0) is calculated, and after receipt of the next reference signal (S0) a predicted error (Serr) is determined by comparing the received reference signal with the predicted value (Spred). From the predicted error (Serr) an estimated value for the noise (Pnoise) of a data signal transmitted in the transmission channel (5), is determined. By considering the predicted error (Serr), the calculation of the predicted value (Spred) is matched to time-wise variations of the transmission channel. An independent claim is included for a device for movement compensated noise estimation.</p> |
