Disclosed are compounds of the formula (I), wherein; R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, and R6 are either SO3-, PO3- or H; and wherein at least three of the group consisting of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, and R6 are each independently either SO3-, or PO3-; provided that if R3, and R4 are both SO3- then at least one of the group consisting of R1, R2, R5, and R6 are either SO3-, or PO3-; or R3, R4, R5, are SO3-, then at least one of the group consisting of R1, R2, and R6 are either SO3-, or PO3-; or R1, and R4, are both SO3- and R3 is not SO3-, then at least one of the group consisting of R2, R5, and R6 are either SO3-, or PO3. Further disclosed is the use of compounds of formula (I) in the preparation of a medicament for treating or alleviating the symptoms of inflammatory reactions in a mammalian patient with the proviso that if only R3, R4, R5are SO3- in any compound then said medicament is enriched for said compound.
