A watch strap and a fastening mechanism for a watch strap. The watch strap includes: a first end with a pivotable portion, a second end with an annular portion, to allow insertion of the pivotable portion when the watch strap is in a closed condition, and a securing element located around the watch strap, to be positioned proximate the first end when the watch strap is in the closed condition.
