The invention relates to a fibre-optic sensor head (2) for an optical current or magnetic field sensor (1), comprising an optical fibre that contains a magnetooptically active sensor fibre (3), which is connected to at least one element (4; 5) that defines the polarisation, said sensor fibre (3) being installed in a magnetic field that is to be measured or around a conductor (L) that carries the current to be measured in the form of a coil (8).
