An aircraft brake actuation system includes an actuator (108) for selectively supplying a commanded brake force to one or more aircraft wheels. The actuator (108) includes a ballscrew (404), a ballnut (406), and a plurality of balls (454). The ballscrew (404) has a plurality of ball grooves (426) formed on its inner surface (418), and is coupled to receive a rotational drive force. The ballnut (406) is mounted against rotation, is disposed at least partially within the ballscrew (404), and includes a plurality of ball grooves (452) formed on its outer surface (422). The plurality of balls (454) are disposed within the ballnut ball grooves (452) and at least selected ones of the ballscrew ball grooves (426).
