<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a dental prosthesis from metallic body instead of manufacturing it with a lost wax casting method. <P>SOLUTION: A stable gold base metal alloy is oxidized easier than gold and includes only base metal alloying additions which are age hardened together with gold. Typical metal includes titanium, zirconium, yttrium, and chromium. Scraps generated in machining of the dental prosthesis are melted in air, and all base metals are oxidized, and pure gold is substantially reclaimed for reusing in new alloys. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
