PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify operation of data deletion in a desired section. SOLUTION: This editing apparatus is provided with a designation operation means for carrying out point designation operation, designation changing operation and deciding operation for setting a deletion section with a first point and a second point for recorded data, and a management information update means for carrying out update operation of management information so as to delete data in the set deletion section. When the point designation operation for the first point is carried out, rehearsal reproduction of a prescribed section with the first point as reference is carried out. When the designation changing operation is carried out during the rehearsal reproduction, changing of the first point according to the designation changing operation and rehearsal reproduction of the prescribed section with the changed first point as the reference can be carried out. At the time when the deciding operation is carried out, a point designated by the designation operation or the designation changing operation so far is decided as the input value of the first point.
