PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal reproducing apparatus which can make an operator recognize the existence of reception of a remote control command certainly even though existing hardware configuration is utilized as cheap appliance. SOLUTION: The video signal reproducing apparatus has at least one of flushing control function which changes the intensity level of an image on a display in a screen display unit 22, such as a television receiver 14, etc., to a high and low rather than a usual level in every time when a controller 23 for controlling the entire apparatus based on an instruction by the remote control command detects the input of the remote control command or a flushing control function which changes the intensity level of information display during displaying on a fluorescent display tube 32 to higher or lower than the usual level.
