PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail transmission/reception system, an electronic mail transmission/reception program and an electronic mail transmitting and receiving device for encrypting an electronic mail address to be used inside an electronic mail transmitting/receiving system for processing, for protecting the electronic mail address itself even when data are leaked owing to any illegal access or the exploitation of the electronic mail address in an electronic mail transmission/reception server by a system operator who has malice, and for encrypting the electronic mail contents in the same way for processing, and for protecting the electronic mail contents from any illegal access or eavesdropping. SOLUTION: This electronic mail transmission/reception method for preventing any plaintext electronic mail address from being stored in an external storage device represented by a hard disk or the like in this electronic mail transmission/reception system including the transfer of an electronic mail is provided to store a destination mail address, a transmitter mail address and electronic mail contents on the electronic mail transmission/reception system by encrypting and storing them in a file, a database, a transmission queue or a user mail spool 403.
