PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative pressure press apparatus in which pressure reduction and pressing are performed only with a pressure reducing apparatus. SOLUTION: A piston 2 is slidably inserted into the inside of a case 1 which is constituted of an upper plate 10, side plates 11 and a bottom plate 12, and the inner space of the case 1 is divided into an evacuating chamber 3 and a pressure regulating chamber 4. The evacuating chamber 3 is provided with a nozzle 30 and the nozzle is connected to a vacuum pump (not shown in Figure) and the pressure regulating chamber 4 is also similarly provided with a nozzle 40 and the nozzle is connected to the vacuum pump. At the beginning, both of the evacuating camber 3 and the pressure regulating chamber 4 are opened to the atmosphere and, next, the evacuating chamber 3 and the pressure regulating chamber are respectively evacuated to negative pressure through the nozzle 30 and the nozzle 40. After that, press working is performed by setting the pressure regulating chamber 4 at the atmosphere pressure by releasing the nozzle 40 and pressing a work W against an upper plate 10 by elevating the piston 2. The ascending speed of the piston 2 and the pressing force of the piston 2 are controlled by regulating the pressure of the pressure regulating chamber 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
