<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-treated metal having an inorganic-organic composite film showing thermal resistance at≥500°C and allowing to be subjected to processing such as squeezing or folding, formed on the surface thereof, and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The surface-treated metal has the inorganic-organic composite film formed on at least a portion of the surface thereof. The inorganic-organic composite film has a siloxane bond as a main bond in a main skeleton. Further, the film has, in bonds of one or both of the main skeleton and a side chain, one or both of an ether bond and an amino bond. The film has also at least one kind of organic group selected from the group consisting of a 1-12C alkyl group, an aryl group, a carboxy group, an amino group, and a hydroxy group.
