PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restart processing for searching for essential guide light by switching the collimation direction of a surveying apparatus by instructing a continuous operation from the target side to the surveying apparatus when searching wrongly for light other than the guide light. SOLUTION: This system is constituted as follows: when receiving disturbance light different from the guide light 64 by a direction detector 56 in a process for searching for the guide light 64 emitted from a guide light transmitter 66 of a target 60 by the surveying apparatus 50, a continuous operation instruction is transmitted from the target 60 to the surveying apparatus 50; then, the light receiving direction of the direction detector 56 is changed by driving of a body 52, and rotated in the horizontal direction or in the vertical direction up to a position out of a light receiving range when receiving the disturbance light by the direction detector 56; and thereafter processing for searching for the guide light 64 is restarted.
