PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining center which can make its size smaller. SOLUTION: The machining center is formed of a first mobile body (14, 54, 94, 134) for moving a main shaft (18, 58, 98, 138); a first driving means (38, 78, 118, 158) for driving the first mobile body (14, 54, 94, 134); a second mobile body (16, 56, 96, 136) for mounting a workpiece (W) thereon; and a second driving means (40, 80, 120, 160) for driving the second mobile body (16, 56, 96, 136). Herein both the first mobile body (14, 54, 94, 134) and the second mobile body (16, 56, 96, 136) are rendered movable toward the same axial direction, to thereby extend a machining stroke of the machining center.
