PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely view or record only a program meeting the convenience of a user. SOLUTION: At a time point when it is detected that the display of reproduced video images of a recorded program is stopped, on the basis of series information IS contained in program information IP of the recorded program, a user confirms whether or not recording of a series program of the recorded program is to be reserved and if an instruction to reserve non-reserved recording of the series program of the recorded program is accepted, recording is reserved but if an instruction not to reserve reserved recording of the series program of the recorded program is accepted, the reservation of recording is canceled, so that recording can be reserved or the reservation of recording can be canceled without causing the user to perform again an operation for reserving recording of the series program of the recorded program.
