There are provided a file management device, a file management method, a file management program, and a computer-readable recording medium containing the file management program capable of surely detecting tamper of a volume. An HDD (130) stores a file and stores volume management data (152) for managing the volume containing the file. A copyright data creation unit (205) creates volume copyright data (134) for detecting tamper of the volume management data (152) when writing the file. A flash RAM (132) arranged at a physically different position from the HDD (130) stores the volume copyright data (134). When the volume is mounted, a copyright data comparison unit (206) compares the volume management data (152) to the volume copyright data (134). If it is judged that no tamper is present, a control unit (202) mounts the volume.
