FIELD: radar systems of homing of anti-shipping missiles. ^ SUBSTANCE: the method consists in detection of targets, determination of the target characteristics, selection of a target for tracking, lock-on and autotracking of the target, check of target truth according to the statistic criteria and rejection of automatic tracking of a false target. Before selection of a target for tracking the threshold value of speed is formed on the basis of the measured speeds of the targets, all the detected targets are subdivided into two groups according to the criterion of exceeding or non-exceeding the speed threshold value. Selection of the next target for tracking is accomplished among the targets belonging to another group. ^ EFFECT: enhanced noise immunity of radar systems of homing of anti-shipping missiles in the conditions of passive jamming from the clouds of dipole reflectors by reducing the total time of selection of the actual target due to reduction of the number of targets subject to a check for truth.
