Producing benzene, ethylene and synthesis gas involves i) introducing a starting gas flow containing methane and carbon dioxide into a reactor; ii) oxidizing the methane in a reactor optionally using a first catalytic material and/or an additional oxidant; and iii) removing a product gas flow containing benzene, ethylene and synthesis gas from the reactor.
