PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small metal detection system for checking metallic foreign matter mixed in the packed vegetable articles such as mushrooms for each article one by one. SOLUTION: The metal detection system for detecting metal mixed in the packed vegetable article is provided with a conveying means for conveying the packed vegetables and the ring like detection part 20 provided in a mid way of the conveying path, which makes the packed vegetable article pass through the detection part 20 by the conveying means. The detection part 20 is provided with a hole approximately same as an end profile of the vegetable package capable of pass through the same, and the conveying means is characteristically composed of a plurality of conveying endless ropes 14 arranged parallelly.
