MANUFACTURING APPARATUS OF LONG OPTICAL FILM AND MANUFACTURING METHOD USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing apparatus capable of obtaining a long optical film having an axis of orientation inclined in its longitudinal direction and excellent in the uniformity and uniaxial properties of optical quality. SOLUTION: The manufacturing apparatus 1 of the long optical film is equipped with a preheater 6a for preheating a thermoplastic resin film, a stretching device 6b for imparting molecular orientation to the thermoplastic resin film and a cooler 6c for fixing the orientation. The stretching device 6b has first and second rails 4 and 5 arranged along the length direction of the film and unidirectionally bent at least once or infinitely and first and second clips 2 and 3. The clips 2 and 3 grasp both ends in the width direction of the thermoplastic resin film and the straight line connecting the bent points corresponding to the first and second rails crosses the length direction of the film before the bending of the film is started at an almost right angle.
