PURPOSE:To obtain >=2C hydrocarbons advantageously at a lower temperature in the presence of a zeolite as a catalyst, by condensation of methyl chloride through dehydrochlorination. CONSTITUTION:Methyl chloride is condensed through dehydrochlorination in the presence of a zeolite [e.g. synthetic zeolite F9 (manufactured by Tekkosha KK, having a formula of Na2O.Al2O3.25SiO2), natural mordemite], at 200-500 deg.C, to obtain >=2C hydrocarbon, e.g. ethylene and butylene, as shown in the reaction formula. This method is applied to natural gas consisting mainly of methane (changed into methyl chloride and converted advantageously to >=2C hydrocarbons), to enlarge its application field and improve the transport ability. |
