<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for flowing a part of an intake air to an exhaust gas passage in an internal combustion engine having an EGR passage and a bypass passage connecting the EGR passage to the exhaust gas passage. <P>SOLUTION: The EGR valve 62 regulating the amount of exhaust gas recirculating in the EGR passage 60 is installed in an EGR passage 60 on the exhaust gas system 40 side of a connection part 71 where the EGR passage 60 is connected to the bypass passage 70.
