<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard motor allowing reduction in weight and miniaturization, while securing required strength of clamp brackets. <P>SOLUTION: The clamp brackets 5 and 6 are manufactured by a vacuum die-casting for supplying molten metal, while holding negative pressure within a metallic mold. Each of the clamp brackets 5 and 6 has a vertical side part 25 fixed to a transom plate 2a of a stern 2 and an upper side part 27 extending by bending forward from an upper end of the vertical side part 25 and vertically oscillatably supporting a swivel bracket 7 by the front part 27a. A bent part 26 from an upper part of the vertical side part 25 to an upper part 27 is made to have a film-beam-film structure provided with a band plate shaped outer peripheral film part 30 arranged along outer peripheries of the vertical side part 25 and the upper side part 27, a band plate shaped inner peripheral film part 31 arranged along inner peripheries and a planar beam part 32 for connecting the inner peripheral film part 31 and the outer peripheral film part 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
