<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the shortest warm-up time of an image forming apparatus to which a bookbinding device is connected by confirming the connection state and the operation state of the image forming apparatus and the bookbinding device, and controlling power to be supplied to the fixing means of the image forming apparatus and power to be supplied to the bookbinding device. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus to which the bookbinding device equipped with a melting means for melting an adhesive to bind the bundle of sheets is connected and which is equipped with a fixing means for fixing an image on the sheet by heating is provided with a power supply means for supplying power to the melting means and the fixing means respectively, a control means for controlling the power supplied from the power supply means, and a 2nd detection means detecting whether or not the fixing means is in course of warming-up. The control means controls so that power to be supplied to the melting means from the power supply means may differ between when the 2nd detection means detects that the fixing means is in course of warming-up and when it detects that the fixing means is not in course of warming-up. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
