<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a shoe 11 with a good yield and short working time as compared with a conventional method. <P>SOLUTION: Thin sintered sliding material 3, 3' are formed on both end surfaces of a backing plate 2 in a base material 4. A flat first sliding surface 11D is formed on one end side in an axial direction by forming the base material 4 in a stepped cylindrical shape by a forging device 5 and a second sliding surface 11E constructed by a semi spherical recess part is formed on another end side in an axial direction. Since the shoe is manufactured by forging, working time can be greatly reduced as compared with a conventional method in which the shoe is manufactured by cutting. Also, yield of material used for the shoe can be improved.
