LUBRICANT FOR METAL WORKING AND METHOD FOR FORMING SOLID LUBRICATING FILM FOR METAL WORKING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant for metal working being a water-based one pack treatment type in which a film-forming process is simple and capable of forming a solid film equivalent to a chemically treated film and to provide a method for simply forming the solid lubricating film by using the lubricant. SOLUTION: The lubricant for metal working comprises a polybasic acid and a≥10C alcohol in a volatile base liquid. The method for forming the solid lubricating film for metal working comprises applying the lubricant for metal working to the surface of a metal to be processed, evaporating the base liquid, (1) forming micro unevenness on the metal surface and (2) forming an associated substance of a polybasic acid with an alcohol and further (3) completing a solid lubricating film having high adhesion and containing the associated substance.
